“Gunmen kill at least 4 in Cancun, just 1 day after BPM event shooting”

Two Mexican drug-cartel related incidents occurred that winter of 2017, which resulted in several deaths. They occurred just 2 weeks before Kat and I boarded our red-eye flight to Cancun, Mexico.

I was concerned with our safety but at that point, it was too late to cancel our trip.

And although it may not be the safest time to travel anywhere with the ongoing state of political affairs in the world, we mustn’t let fear stop us.

Sturtevant Falls- 1st Hike of the Year

We (The Adventure Squad) woke up bright and early at 6am on this beautiful sunny Sunday morning to head to Sturtevant Falls since this place is known to get really crowded, especially on the weekends.

We were fortunate to have found parking at a lot closest to the trailhead, as opposed to parking further away along the bottom of the mountain (which is common considering the popularity of this trail).

Chasing Turquoise Waterfalls – A Backpacker’s Journey Through Havasupai, Arizona

Saturday, April 2nd 3:18am

I wake up from my nap and I’m lying in my tent with my journal beside me. I pull back the covers and I am now looking up at the clear sky, which is covered with stars. You could see each star sparkling on its own- this secluded campground is hidden far away from the city. I don’t remember the last time I stargazed in a night like this without the pollution and distractions of the world. It’s absolutely beautiful.
